…and we’ve got some good ones, too.
This year, for the first time, the organizing committee has reached out to the community and sought sponsors for Miles for Smiles. You all know what that means; it means we asked people for money – again, but this time in a different way. The committee went looking for cheques, and the community responded very well indeed. What do the sponsors receive in return for the aforementioned cheque? Well, in addition to the satisfied feeling that comes from doing right in the community, the sponsors are going to have their names, logos and information displayed prominently here on the site, and – variously, depending upon the level of sponsorship – on Miles for Smiles t-shirts, the 2008 banner, and this year’s auction program.
We are thrilled to have some new partners in the cause, and we are equally happy to welcome back some old friends who have long contributed generously.
I’ll draw your attention to the box on the right hand side of this page, entitled “Diamond Sponsors“. These folks have bought in to our sponsorship program at the highest level. Over the next few days, I’ll be adding some more boxes on the right hand side of the site to tell you about our Platinum, Gold and Silver level sponsors. All of these folks have done right by the troubled youth of Hamilton; all of them have given generously to help us make this year’s campaign a success.
On behalf of the Miles for Smiles 2008 organizing committee, I thank them all and I ask you to remember their generosity. If you have occasion to need some of the goods and services these fine folks are in the business of supplying, why not support local businesses who support local charities like Miles for Smiles? Help us convince these folks that they’ve made the right choice to support Miles for Smiles: be sure to tell them that you’re supporting them because they supported us.
